It’s probably confusing for some about either the title of my blog and my domain name. Let me break it down to you “kopi hitam dan kretek” {bahasa indonesia} which means “black coffee and cloves”. So is it about coffee and cloves? Unfortunately, not people. But.. I drink and smoke ‘em every single day! That makes my race proud. Thus if you do want to share some of your coffee and cigarette experiences, you are very much welcome. 
However, the title “coffee and cigarettes” tells more about myself than just a habitual routine. If you ever heard of a film called “coffee and cigarettes”, then you probably know where I’m going with this all this. In short, the filmmaker is one of my favorite film director (among many other great ones). So there you go; a blend of personal behavior and individual interest in one phrase and blog. Thought, there should be a purpose to everything.  
In my ‘in cinema’ category, you’ll find writings of my opinions to some filmmakers works. Upcoming films and new films in the theater near you. You will also find similar writings in ‘the unsung’ category which will be focused more on films that are either not in most theaters, or not in theaters at all, is an old classic films that we almost forgot they existed, etc. (you probably know what i mean about these films). Remember, these are just opinions (personal opinions) and not exactly reviews; not to mention critics. Remembering what one of my instructor once said: 

…you know what they say about film-critics; its those who never managed to make their own films right or they still have some remaining grudge over the appreciation to their films. So..   

As for my journal category, I’ll just leave it for the miscellaneous and wandering thoughts of my anxiety -due to high-dose of coffee and cigarettes of course.
